Privacy statement

Who is responsible
This website belongs to Sebastiaan Zwaan, who works under the name Zwaan ICT. I am the controller of the personal data you share with me via this site, my email address, my WhatsApp number or my LinkedIn profile. Zwaan ICT is not registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
What data is processed
I only receive your name, email address or phone number if you contact me yourself. How I count visits without knowing who you are is explained further down under ‘Visitor statistics’. You can contact me in these ways:
- Via the contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The form sends this to me as an email, from my hosting provider's server. The content is not stored on the website itself. As protection against spam, the server counts for at most one hour how many messages come from a device, using an anonymised code of the IP address. After sending, you receive a short automatic confirmation at the email address you entered.
- Via email (sebastiaan@zwaanict.nl): your email address, name and the content of your message.
- Via WhatsApp: your phone number, name (if known) and the content of your message.
- Via LinkedIn: the data contained in your LinkedIn profile and messages themselves.
Why this data
I only use your data to answer your question or to carry out an assignment. I do not use it for marketing and do not sell it to others.
Cookies and trackers
This website does not place cookies or advertising trackers, and sends nothing to third parties. Your browser does remember a few things on your own device, as described below. The fonts come from my own server, so your browser does not connect to any third parties to display this website. During the day the website is light and after sunset it is dark. Your browser works this out itself using your device's clock, without using your location. If you choose the light or dark theme yourself, your browser remembers that choice on your own device until it gets light or dark outside again. That choice is not sent to me. The guide on the homepage also works entirely in your own browser: what you type there is not sent to me. So that your conversation stays in place when you briefly visit another page, your browser temporarily keeps it in that tab. It disappears as soon as you close the tab and never reaches me. If you click the button for email, WhatsApp or the contact form, your questions are only prepared in the message that you then still have to send yourself.
Visitor statistics
To see how the website is used, I count visits on my own server. For each visit the following is stored: which page you view, which website you came from (only the name of that website, such as google.nl), the type of device, the browser and operating system, a rough estimate of your country based on your device's time zone, and whether you click the buttons for WhatsApp, email, LinkedIn or the contact form. If you use the guide, the website only counts the topic of your question, such as ‘wifi’ or ‘costs’, and never what you typed.
Your IP address is not stored. To be able to count visitors within a single day, the server creates a code from your IP address and browser, together with a secret that is replaced every day and then deleted. As a result, that code cannot be traced back to you afterwards. While a page is visibly open, your browser reports roughly every 45 seconds that the page is still open, so I can see how many people are on the site at that moment. Only the page and the last time are kept, and they are deleted again within an hour.
To see how many different people visit the website, and whether someone comes back, your browser stores a random code on your own device on your first visit (in your browser's local storage, not a cookie). That code says nothing about who you are, is only used for these statistics and is never shared with others. If you don't want this, clear the site data for zwaanict.nl in your browser, or use a private window. The data is stored only on my own server, only I can view it, and it is deleted after just over a year. I do this on the basis of legitimate interest: understanding how the website is used so that I can improve it.
Retention period
I keep messages and contact details no longer than necessary to handle your question.
Your rights
You may ask which data I hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. To do so, send an email to sebastiaan@zwaanict.nl.
